TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Drake & Gorham
Date6 June 1890
DescriptionRix writes concerning electrical arrangements for the forthcoming Ladies Soirée. The following exhibits shown 14 May at the Soirée will be repeated; Mr C V Boys in the Council room will need leads for one or two glow lamps; Mr Marshall Ward will need three glow lamps in the large library as before; Dr Waller in the archives will need leads for an arc lamp; Mr Bidwell will exhibit the electrification of the steam jet and would like an arc lamp instead of the oxyhydrogen lantern. There is a new exhibit by Mr W Gardiner of the same nature as Professor Wards who requires at least four glow lamps. The Royal Society's own electric lanterns will be in use on three separate occassions for periods of from 20 minutes to half an hour for slides.
