TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor Robert Grant, Fellow of the Royal Society, Observatory, Glasgow
Date21 June 1890
DescriptionWith reference to Grant's application for a grant of £300 for the publication of the results deducible from the meteorological observations made at the Glasgow Observatory, 1869-1887, the Government Grant Committee in the first instance and the President and Council of the Royal Society subsequently, have felt some difficulty as the Meteorological Council has already published in various forms a considerable part of the observations made between 1869 and 1883, and the grant will not therefore be made.

Foster is directed to say that they would take into consideration an application for a smaller sum towards the publication of the results during years outside the 1868-1887 period, or of those results during that period other than those which the Meteorological Council propose to publish.
