TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Grand Hotel, Venice
Date22 September 1890
DescriptionRix has the card and is sending by book post a proof of Professor Williamson's paper. It is not the finally corrected proof but will answer for the purpose of the 'correction of objectionable expressions'. Rix and Mr White have both looked for these but cannot anywhere find the word 'absurd' to which Sir Joseph Hooker takes exception. Williamson has insisted on seeing yet another revise so the paper cannot go to press immediately as they had hoped though he thinks it will be ready very shortly.
