TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor William Crawford Williamson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date25 September 1890
DescriptionThe Royal Society has the originals of some of Williamson's plates and ought to have the originals of all. The manuscripts of all papers are preserved and the drawings bound up with then. If Williamson wishes to retain the original drawings of the paper now passing through the press he must apply for leave of the Council.

The revises of photographic plates are exceedingly expensive and they shall not therefore send any further revises of those just sent back as the corrections are so trifling. As soon as Rix obtains the fresh proofs of the text he will send this with the final paging and with it will return the proof plates with the final numbering. The unwillingness of all editors of periodicals to send proofs with final paging is that at this stage any delay on the part of the author in returning the proofs stops the issue of the whole series.
