DescriptionRix has submitted Wyon's letter of 21 Otcober to Dr [John] Evans who desires Rix at once to thank Wyon for his handsome offer. The Royal Society does not posses any of the medals mentioned in Wyon's list viz: Reverend W B Clarke; James Watt, two medals; Dr Bigsby, two medals; Sir Joseph Whitworth; Sir C W Siemens, two medals; Dr Todd; John Howard; Sir Isaac Newton McGill medal; and Samuel Solly. In the second list only the following were Fellows of the Royal Society and they do not posses the medals of any of them; Dr Parkes, Sir William Lawrence, Dr W Baly and John Hunter. Any of the above medals Wyon can spare will be most acceptable.
