Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 16 December 1890 |
Description | Rix encloses a letter [not attached] from Few & Company asking Foster to see them on Thursday. The Council have referred to Few & Company regarding whether Drake & Gorham are not liable for any possible infringement of the Lane-Fox patent. Rix emphasises that Drake and Gorham have as good as admitted their liability in the matter and he does not understand why the Council have referred this question to Few & Company at all. Rix has today received an unsolicited letter from Drake & Gorham saying that they are members of the Defence Association and Rix is sending it on to Few & Company.
A letter has arrived from Sir Lyon Playfair recommending Mr [John Henry] Lorimer as artist for the [George Gabriel] Stokes portrait and Rix wonders what to do with it. |
