Description'Dear Sir,
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th instant withdrawing the paper by Messrs Jessup, Goodboy, Prideaux and yourself on "The electrical forces of mitosis and origin of cancer". The paper is returned to you herewith on the understanding that it is to be regarded as not having been communicated to the Royal Society at all, and I shall be much obliged if, in acknowledging the safe receipt of the manuscript, you will be so good as to give me a written assurance to this effect in compliance with the requirements of the Standing Orders of Council.'
