TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor J [James] C [Cossar] Ewart FRS
Date10 July 1909
Description'Dear Professor Ewart,
In reply to your letter of the 8th, there will be no difficulty in letting you have back the plates of your paper on the Ancestors of Horses. I have the President's authority, in anticipation of Council's consent (which is required by statute) to do this. According to the strict letter of the Statutes, however, the paper itself ought to be preserved in the Archives here, but you are entitled to have a copy of it and I think I may count on the support of the President and Council in lending it for this purpose.
I am therefore sending the paper and plates to Penlouik, but for my own protecting I should be glad of an acknowledgment from you that you regard the paper as on loan.'
