In continuation of my letter of the 16th in which I stated our readiness to keep pace with a daily visit from your motor van, our people now inform me that the van, so far, has never taken its full complement of parcels, a considerable part of its space having been occupied by empty baskets and boxes and that, under these conditions, not more than about one and a half tons of stock have been taken away at each journey. At this rate we shall not get the stock cleared by the date required, and I shall be much obliged therefore if you can arrange that the motor van shall come here empty and take its full complement, at any rate, every day this week.' |
