DescriptionHarrison does not remember the name of Council who proposed Elwes for membership for the Botany Committee, but Council adopted it. The function of the Sectional Committees is to consider papers communicated for publication, and they act under Standing Orders which can be found in the 'Year Book'. The Botany Committee meets about two or three times a year.

His book 'The Trees of Great Britain and Ireland' is not possessed by the Royal Society, and Harrison shall be proud to accept a copy for the Library.
