TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to G I Turner, 5 Clement's Inn, W.C.
Date7 January 1910
DescriptionRegarding their letter of 29 December on the subject of the Roman urn mentioned in Aubrey's 'Antiquities of Surrey', as being preserved in the Repository of the Royal Society at Crane Court, Harrison is sorry to say there are no definite particulars to give. The contents of the Repository were presented to the British Museum in 1781, and there appears to be no record of the articles disposed of. If the urn was in existence at that date, as the Repository wasn't well maintained, there is little doubt it went to the British Museum.
