TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Joseph Larmor, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date25 February 1910
DescriptionThere seems to be an ambiguity about the resolution passed by Council yesterday as to filling Dr Simpson's vacancy in the Indian Meteorological Department. Towle has shown Harrison a note from Larmor that the people to be consulted are the five he first mentioned to Council, but Harrison's note is that they considered these too many and ultimately referred it to Professors [Horace] Lamb and [John Henry] Poynting, with the Officers, to make enquiries and put forward a recommendation to the India Office. Enquires which is right.
