TitleCopy letter from John Rose Bradford, to Arthur Everett Shipley, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date23 February 1910
DescriptionProfessor F J Cole's further remarks on his paper on 'Tone Perception in Gammarus Pulex' have been submitted to the two referees who first reported on his paper, and the physicist is still of opinion that the explanation does not meet his objection that the special tonal response may be down to a sympathetic response to the cell itself, and he is not satisfied that the phenomenon is proved to be real. He suggests to try a modification of Ropp's experiment. In these circumstances, Bradford asks if it would not be better to withdraw the paper until more evidence can be obtained.
