TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor to Professor W [William] M [Mitchinson] Hicks FRS
Date3 May 1910
Description'My dear Hicks,
In the matter of Hatfield's paper we have now two adverse reports from high authorities.
It is admitted that the plates are good: but we are told that nothing is made of them in the text. When I saw the first report I though that a way might be open for publishing some of the plates, with text reduced and modified, in the Proceedings [of the Royal Society], if you woulc contribute hald the cost. But the second report is quite emphatic, perhaps however this is still worth considering.
There are detailed criticisms which if necessary could be copied for your own information: but we had better wait to see what course you decided to take in general.

P.S I got to Rome on Friday morning for 14 days: an answer to the RS [Royal Society] would find me till them.'
