Description'Sir,
With reference to Sir G H Murray's letter of February 26, 1910 (3780/10) I am directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to notify HM Treasury that under the new scheme for the management of the Kew and Eskdale Muir Observatories, approved by them, the following clause of the Constitution of the National Physical Laboratory is no longer operative:-
Clause 5, last paragraph.
"Those members of the Executive Committee who are Fellows of the Royal Society shall be appointed by the President and Council to be the Gassiot Committee of the Royal Society."
A copy of the new detailed regulations is enclosed.' [no enslosure]
