Description'Dear Madam,
In fulfilment of my promise made yesterday, but without prejudice to the question of the publication of the whole or any part of your paper on the Absorption of Cases by Charcoal, I send you for information a copy of remarks, made upon the paper by a reported to whom it was referred for an opinion, and mentioned by Sir Joseph Larmor in his letter of the 28th April to Sir William Ramsay.
I also enclose a print of the Abstract you furnished for the meeting at which the paper in to be read. Upon this you may be able to obtain an pinion whether or not it would suffice as a record of publication for the purpose of your University thesis,
It will in accordance with our usual practice be issued early next week.'
