Description'Dear Madam,
In reply to your letter of the 24th instant, Professor Macallum duly communicated your paper on The Origin of the Hydrochloric Acid in the Gastric Tubules and it is now under consideration.
The 600 copies of the Preliminary Note were, I am informed, sent by our printers to the Rockefeller Institute on May 30th: the account for these extra copies was also sent to you in New York. However, as you had probably let for England before the account reached you, I am enclosing a duplicate.' [no enclosure]
