The report (in original) of the second referee is enclosed herewith for Sir Joseph Larmor's information and return with instructions.
The Minute of the P & C [Physics and Chemistry] Committee with reference to the paper is to the effect that unless a quite favourable report recommending publication in the Phil[osophical] Trans[actions of the Royal Society] is received from the second referee, the paper proceed for publication, in abridged form, in the Proceedings [of the Royal Society], the length not to exceed 10 pages. The estimated number of pages as the paper now stands is 26. Dr Chree's notes are also enclosed for information.' [no enclosure]
