I am much obliged to you for sending me a specimen of your book, but the subject hardly falls within the scope of the Royal Society, and we are compelled by limitations of space to restrict our Library within the narrow limits of the exact Sciences.
I shall therefore be glad if you will let me know how to dispose of the specimen copy.'
