TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Alfred Barton Rendle, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date6 December 1910
DescriptionThere is no records as to the ultimate disposition of the Royal Society's series of plant specimens from Chelsea Gardens. Doubtless they were placed in the Repository at Crane Court, though that could hardly have proved their entire preservation, since it was the neglected state of the contents of the Repository that led to the transfer of the natural history and other objects to the British Museum. The transfer was decided by Council on 1 March 1871, and was acknowledged by the Museum though Mr Planta on 15 June 1871.
