TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Major [Edmond Herbert Grove] Hills, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date9 December 1910
DescriptionThe Council has had before them the application from an officer for the loan of one of the mirrors which the late Dr Common made and presented to the Royal Society. As these mirrors have been in the past used in connection with eclipse observations, and might be required for such purposes again, the Council wishes to have the opinion of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee as to the desirability of lending one them. Sir [Joseph] Norman Lockyer tends to confirm Captain Morton's statement that one of these mirrors is damaged.
