TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Captain H G Morton, Forton Barracks, Gosport
Date14 December 1910
DescriptionRegarding Morton's application for the loan of a 20 inch mirror belonging to the Royal Society, for the purpose of experiments in connection with the direction of gun-fire at night, Harrison is directed to say that the reflector referred to is a valuable astronomical mirror, figured by the late Dr Common, and now reported to be damaged to an extent which is not known. As he wishes to use the mirror during experiments conducted under the auspices of the Admiralty, the Officers of the Royal Society consider that an application should come from there.
