TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr William Napier Shaw, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date10 January 1911
DescriptionIn response to Shaw's letter of 6 January about the Rosse Fund for Valencia Observatory, the Royal Society control of the fund has been delayed by an absurd piece of pedantry on behalf of the Bank of Ireland. The deed for the transmission of dividends was duly executed, but the Bank refused to accept it as the words 'for the promotion of natural knowledge' were omitted from the description. A fresh deed will be executed. Thanks him for his letter about the barograph, it will be very interesting to have it and Harrison will see that time marks are made regularly.
