DescriptionCouncil meetings are held monthly from December to July, with the exception of a gap at Easter, and extra meetings in February and November in connection with special elections. The Committee work of the Royal Society is carried on in the main by Standing Committees, not by any means restricted to members of Council, and there is no obligation on a member of council to serve on any Committee. Harrison trusts he may regard Northumberland's letter of 28 October as an expression of his readiness to serve on the Council.
