Date9 February 1911
DescriptionThe Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society, with the approval of H M Treasury, have resolved that the unexpended balance of the National Antarctic Expedition Fund shall be handed over to the British Antarctic Expedition, for the purposes of that Expedition. The balance amounts to £668.8.3, and it is proposed that £326.19.1 should be contributed without conditions, the remainder being subject to the condition that it is to be retained by the Committee of the British Antarctic Expedition until the Expedition is concluded, when if any unsatisfied claims of the Government on the Expedition exist, they are to be paid out of it.

Geikie would be glad to hear if Speyer accepts this contribution, and to undertake the required condition shall be observed.
