DescriptionRegarding Fowler, Lockett and Ardern's paper 'The Oxidation of Phenol', Harrison informs them that the title of the paper cannot be changed without special sanction after it has been received and passed for publication. It is proposed that the following should be adopted: 'The Oxidation of Phenol by Certain Bacteria in Pure Culture'. The considerable additions made to the paper will have to be dated in accordance with the regulations of the Royal Society.
