TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to The Secretary, Royal Academy of Arts
Date12 May 1911
DescriptionThe Royal Society has been in consultation with the other learned societies in Burlington House on the subject of illuminating the building on the occasion of the coronation. The scheme of decoration which was adopted in 1902 was generally pronounced to be very effective and steps are being taken to repeat the scheme.
The other learned societies have all agreed to co-operate and to contribute towards the expense. Harrison enquires whether the Royal Academy of Arts will contribute a fraction of the expense. The other societies have agreed to contribute not exceeding £15 each and the Royal Society will make up the rest of the total cost.'
