TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to O J R Howarth
Date24 May 1911
DescriptionWith reference to recent correspondence Howarth will like to know that the Royal Society are going forward with the preparations for the decoration of Burlington House for the Coronation, along the same lines as 1902. The scheme on that occasion was devised by Mr Sommers Clarke, Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, Architect to St Paul;s Cathedral; and he is supervising the exceution of the same plan this time. The scheme consists of 14 flags bearing arms of devices of several societies, with a Union Jack in the middle. In addition the design comprises a large Imperial crown outside in electrical lamps shaded in plain coloured Chinese lanterns in the archway leading into the courtyard from Piccadilly. .
Harrison shall be glad to know if Howarth's Society will give facilities for the fixing of the flagstaffs and the illumination in front of their winders in so far as they are affected.
'Simillary copies were sent to the following: Dr Daydon Jackson, Mr L L Belinfante, S C Cann.'
