Description'I have to inform you that in reponse to an invitation from the Society of Chemical Industry the President and Council have appointed you, together with Sir William Ramsay, to represent the Royal Society on a Committee to consider arrangement for the adequate representation of British Chemists at the 8th International Congress of Applied Chemistry, to be held in Washington and New York in September 1912; and I am to express the hope that you will consent to serve on this Committee.'
