Description | In reply to Mather's letter of yesterday Harrison sent a telegram this morning to say that tomorrow is a bad day for Mather to come here [Burlington House] as it is the meeting day for the Croonian lecture and it is the Soiree tonight. Harrison has no power to receive any paper intended to be read before the Society unless it is communicated by a Fellow of the Royal Society. A first step should be for Mather to place himself in communication with a Fellow. |
