| Description | 'Your letter of the 20th instant to the Colonial Office relating to the edition of the Sleeping Sickness Reports has been sent on here by the Colonial Officer for our views on the subject. Before replying to them however, I should be glad to clear up a discrepancy which appears upon your letter with regard to the facts. Our records show that accordingly to our request in the letter addressed to you Office the edition of Part X of the Sleeping Sickness Reports was only 750, and that I would have been the number we should in the ordinary course have suggested for Part XI. I should be glad to know whether this was the actual edition of Part X printed, or whether your Office acted upon a general instruction which appears to have been given in 1907 and printed [125]. So far as I see at present we could agree with you that that edition is unnecessarily large.' |
