Description | 'The Council of the Royal Society lately made a grant of money to Mr Joseph Barcroft, a Fellow of the Society, and Lecturer in Physiology in the University into the Effect of Altitude on the Dissociation Curve of the Blood. In connection with this investigation Mr Barcroft desires to make observations in the Laboratory on Monte Rosa, and in pursuance of the privilege conferred upon the Royal Society in 1904, I am directed to say that the Society nominates Mr Barcroft for the posts at its disposal on Monte Rose or on the Col d'Oleb, and I am to express the hope that every facility which the observatories provide may be given to Mr Barcroft and his party for carrying out their researches.' |
