Description'Adverting to the letter addressed to you on January 28 last, I am directed to inform you that the Physics and Chemistry Sectional Committee, having regard to the time which has elapsed without any reply from you on the subject, conclude that your desire to withdraw the paper, and at their meeting last week instructed me to regard it as withdrawn.
The Standing Orders (S.O.31) provide that a paper may be withdrawn on the understanding explained in writing that the paper is to be regarded as not having been communicated to the Society at all.
If you so desire it, I will on receipt of such an understanding from you, return you the paper.'
