Description'I am directed to enclose a letter from Sir David Bruce with receipted accounts, which the Secretaries of the Royal Society have received, and to say that they fully concur in Sir David Bruce's opinion that Captain Hamerton has a claim upon the consideration of the government in respect of the property he lost in Lake Victoria when engaged on the work of the Sleeping Sickness Commission, on which occasion he narrowly escaped death by drowning.'
