TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison [per A H White] to The Reverend W A Wickham, St Andrew's Vicarage, Wigan
Date7 September 1911
DescriptionRevered Patrick Gordon FRS [Fellow of the Royal Society].
With reference to Wickham's letter of September 6, the first edition of Patrick Gordon's "Geography Anatomized" contains an epistle dedicatory and an appendix, which Harrison copies out for Wickham. There is no date to either Epistle or Appendix.
The Royal Society do not know when the Rev. Patrick Gordon ceased to be a Fellow, but there is nothing to show he lived after 1702, there fore are inclined to think that the Fellow of Royal Society bearing that name was the missionary to whom Wickham refers.
