TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor J [John] W [William] Mallet FRS
Date9 September 1911
Description'With reference to your letter of July 28, our storekeeping sent the two parts of [Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society] in the ordinary way by parcel post, being unaware of any duty payable your end.
If you will look at Science for June 23, 1911, p. 963, you will see by a letter there that duty paid on the Zoological Record was recovered on application to the US Treasury. Perhaps you would feel inclined in view of that letter, to make application for the recovery of the duty you have paid. If not is seem that we should refund the sum.'
