Description | 'I now return the specimen of the Charter Book page which the President considers the most successful as regards [tone] of ink and paper. With regard to the pagination however, we all think that the numerals should be small than on the specimen, not more than two thirds of the size; that they should be on the top right hand corner of the page and not in the middle, and that they should be without brackets. I think on those lines you may go ahead with the printing. the name of Charles on the front page of this specimen is a little faint but that may be an accident of the printing. If it can be strengthened in any way it would be well. We look forward to seeing specimens of typography for the "Record" at your earliest convenience because some of the copy is already in order for printing.' |
