| Description | Harrison writes at once in reply to Orr's letter of the 21st to say that the circular of Layayette's which he enclosed has certaining not been issued with the approval of the Royal Society. All that has happened in the matter in tha Layfayette, who are very well know, appliced to the President some weeks ago promising to make a memorial group of portraits in connection with thw forthcoming celebrations of the 250th anniversay.
By direction of the President Harrison repled that he considered it better to wait until the programme of proceedings is more matured, before making any definte plans. No present objection to the proposal was made, but that is all that passed, Harrison is writing to Layfayetter to say that he thinks their action is at least premature. |
