Description'In reply to your letter of January 23, requesting permission to reproduce in your Handbook of Metellograph certain figures from the paper by Dr Rosenhain and Mr Tucker on the Alloys of Lead and Tin (Phil[osophical] Trans[actions of the Royal Society] A CCIX); I am able to inform you that (subject to the formal consent of Council, which you may take from granted) there will be no objection to your reproducing these figures, provided proper acknowledgment is made of the Source from which they are taken.
If you wish I will instruct our printers to make and supply you with cliches of the blocks - these are supplied at a trifling cost.'
