Description'I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of November 16, enquiring as to the procedure to be adopted on behalf of persons desiring to be Fellows of the Royal Society. I quote the following for your information from the Statutes of the Society:
"A candidate shall be proposed and recommended by a certificate in writing signed by two or more Fellows, of when three at least shall certify their recommendation from personal knowledge".
It should be added that the procedure must not be initiated or endorsed by the person desiring to be a candidate.'
