With reference to Chapter 7 of the above sent to you this week I have just discovered an entry which should ne inserted to fill a gap in the list of Croonian Lecturers contained in the chapter under referred. You will find in that list an entry "1830-1856 not appointed". We now find that a Croonian Lecturer was appointed in 1851 and the entry should be "1851 Richard Owen "On the Megatherium" Proceedings Vol. 6. page 57"
If you can insert that the receding and succeeding entries will have to be "1830-1850 not appointed" and "1852-1856 not appointed". We have found no record of any Croonian Lecturer in those years.' |
