Description'In reply to your letter of the 11th instant, I regret to have to inform you that neither the Royal Society no the Government Grant Committee has at its disposal the instruments you refer to.
In the ordinary course January 1st is the latest date for receiving applications from grants from the Government Grant; but if your application is of special urgency and you will fill up and return the enclosed form I may be able to bring the matter before the Council of the Royal Society next week.'
