Description'Your letter of February 16 (12/5 S.P.O) asking for a grant of £314 to cover the expense of an expedition to be sent by the Solar Physics Committee to Brazil in the present year was considered by the Government Grant Committee at their meeting yesterday, and I regret to have to inform you that they are unable to include it among their recommendations in view of the demands upon the Government Grant for grants to private individuals.'
