Description | 'With reference to your letter of May 26, 1911 informing the Royal Society of the constitution of the Bureau for the administration of the affairs of the International Association of Academies during the current period of three years, I addressed a letter several weeks ago to the Imperial Academy of Science, asking to whom the Royal Society's contribution to the International Association should be made payable. Since I have received no reply to that enquiry, I am now, rather than delay the transmission of the subscription, forwarding you a cheque for £8, which is made payable to yourself as President of the Bureau of the Association. I shall be glad to hear of the safe receipt of the cheque and to have the enclosed formal acknowledgment signed and returned to me here.' |
