TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Sir G [George] H [Howard] Darwin KCB, FRS
Date22 April 1912
DescriptionIn explanation of Harrison's telegram sent off this morning, he is writing to tell Darwin that the Royal Society received only on Saturday a letter from the India Office offering to receive a deputation from the Royal Society on Wendesday next to explain the views of the Society on the subject of the scientific staff at Simla, as indicated in the resolution of the Observatories Committee passed at their last meeting, forwarded to the India Office. The main basis of the Committee's recommendations is in the report of the Observatories Committee forwarded to the India Office in 1902, and embodying a scheme for the organisation of the Meteorological Department. This report is in the Minutes of the Committee which Darwin can see at any time before the deputation goes.
