Description | 'Referring to your letter of the 13th inst on the subject of supplying copies of the Bulletins of the International Institute of Agriculture, Rome, I beg to say that the copies referred to by you in that letter have been duly received here. I would however beg to say that while the Society is grateful to the Board for their kindness, the Bulletins are of a technical character which is not quite suitable to the scope of the Royal Society's library. We are driven by exigencies of space to restrict our acquisitions more and more to the field of pure science. I would therefore venture to suggest that the copies intended for the Royal Society should be presented to some other Society of institution where they would be more permanently valuable.' |
