TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor J [John] Joly FRS
Date5 December 1911
Description'Sir Joseph Larmor wishes me to say, with reference to your mention of a portrait of Dr G J Stoney to accompany his obituary notice, that there is no objection to a portrait, when provided, though it is not desired to make it the rule that there should be one.
If therefore a suitable portrait is available and you will send it promptly, I will take steps to get it reproduced.
If a small, a half-tone block might suffice, at a cost of some 10s. If larger and separately printed, collotype would be more appropriate, but that would cost you £5 or £6.'
