| Description | 'Sometime ago you repaired the large Presidential chair used in the meeting room of this Society. As you may remember, the chair is surmounted by the arms of the Society, from which however, the crest was lacking when it was sent to you. It is now desired to add the crest consisting of "A helm adorned with a crown studded with florets, surmounted by an eagle of proper colour holding in one foot a shield charged with our lions". The helm and crown are there, but we want to supply the eagle and shield, and I am to ask if you would undertake to supply them in carved wood. If so, perhaps it would be well for a representative of yours to come here and take instructions from me.' |
