TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Messrs Hampton & Sons
Date10 May 1912
Description'Replying to yours of the 7th I am authorised to accept your estimate of £12.10 for cleaning, staining and polishing the floor of the large library here. So far as I can foresee the floor should be ready for your to begin operations on the morning of Friday in Whitsun week, and I shall be much obliged if you will hold yourselves prepared to put the work in hand at that time, as it is desireable to resume the use of the Library as soon as possible.
With regard to the carved bird for the crest to be placed on the President's chair, I am not sure that the rest of the arms can be removed easily and I should have thought that a study and measurement of the arms would be a sufficient guide for your carver. Perhaps your representative can come across and inspect the chair with me on Monday or Tuesday afternoon, avoiding 3.30 on Monday, when I have another appointment.'
