TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Sir Archibald Geikie KCB, President RS
Date20 December 1911
Description'Royal Society Portraits.
Five portraits have come back from Mr Buttery and show a brilliant result. The Treasurer has seen them and is very much pleased with the,. I now propose to send four or five more and suggest a selection from the enclosed taken from Sir Walter Armstrong's list of pictures of important requiring careful treatment. The first six require cleaning and varnishing. The last, which requires relining and careful handling, ought I think to go now or it will go from bad to worse.
If you would select say four of five of the others to which you think preference should be given, I will ask Mr Buttery to start on them directly after Christmas.'
